Use of Cookies

Cookies are used by most websites today. A cookie is a small piece of code/text file that is stored in your browser when you visit our website. It allows us to see which pages are visited, which buttons are clicked, and how users navigate through the site. We may also collect information such as the browser you use, navigation patterns, and the time of your visit.

We collect this information to tailor the website content and improve the user experience as much as possible. Please note that disabling cookies may cause many websites to no longer function properly.

What BSA Offshore AS uses cookies for:

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is used to manage tracking codes and integrations with third-party tracking solutions such as Universal Analytics (Google Analytics). It is used for website optimization and marketing services. All tracking codes are managed and deployed through Google Tag Manager.

Google Analytics
This analytics tool is used to analyze traffic, user behavior, and trends on our website. The data collected helps us optimize the user experience and tailor website content. In accordance with Google’s guidelines for Google Analytics, no personally identifiable information is collected about you as a user. The collected data is stored on Google’s servers. We may store information such as user navigation patterns on the website and certain actions performed (for example, submitting a form). All information is subject to Google’s privacy policies.

Meta and Linkedin Pixel
Facebook and LinkedIn Pixel are used to manage and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on social media platforms.

By tracking actions users perform on the website, we are able to improve advertising campaigns, create targeted audiences, and conduct remarketing activities. (Facebook Pixel is also used for Instagram, Messenger, Instant Articles, and Audience Network, and therefore covers these channels as well.)

These analytics tools provide us with access to statistics, such as which pages were visited as a result of an advertising campaign and which actions were completed (such as purchases or contact form submissions). This information is anonymized.

Hotjar
Hotjar is used to map and analyze how users interact with the website. To help us understand how visitors use the site, Hotjar records visitor sessions.

The Hotjar script uses a websocket connection to send the following information to Hotjar’s servers:
- HTML changes that occur during a user session on the website
- Mouse movements
- Mouse clicks
- Scrolling behavior
- Keystrokes for whitelisted actions
- Statistics related to browser viewport size changes

Each tracked event is stored in Hotjar’s cloud database using timestamps, allowing sessions to be replayed in chronological order.

The Hotjar script tracks visitors across different pages using a first-party cookie, making it possible to replay an entire session in a single recording. No sensitive information or personal user data is collected or stored.
